As a work-at-home mom I experience a certain joy every September when my children go back to school. I love them dearly and I love the privilege of being able to be with them during the summer months because I don’t punch a clock outside the home.
HOWEVER, they wreck my productivity and thereby my efficiency when they’re here all the time. I mean…oh GOD. EVERYTHING slows down. But it’s okay; they are more important. It’s a choice; when trade-offs have to be made, I make them in favor of family. So today, on the first day of school, I am empowered to again choose my career and my uninterrupted journey to efficiency. By next year I expect to be more efficient and thereby more apt to juggle work and family with minimal losses.
But until then, I’m honestly just happy to have my office hours back! SO happy in fact, that I’m sharing this video to express EXACTLY how I feel on the first day of school every year 😀
Now to get my two-year-old out of here…
